Katonga Game Reserve – Uganda Wildlife Safari

Katonga-game-reserveKatonga Wildlife Reserve is a low key wildlife reserve covering about 211sq km of land along the banks of river Katonga in western Uganda. This reserve was opened in 1998 and today, it’s a home to lots of different plants and animal species especially those that like staying in wetland areas for example the Sitatungas.

The vegetation cover along river banks is forest fringed and so the best way someone can explore this area is through taking a nature walk or use the canoes along the river because you can’t drive through a forest and there are no roads for the vehicles. This is a great place to visit on a Safari in Uganda as you will be amazed by what you will find in this small game reserve. (more…)

Kenya President Reveals New Strategies to Promote Tourism

President-Uhuru-KenyattaKenya Tourism News – During the officially opening of the English Point Marina by Mr. Uhuru Kenyatta – the president of Kenya in Mombasa today, the President officially revealed a number of strategies that have been put in place so as to make destination Kenya more competitive and which will help boost Kenya’s tourism sector.

Some of the strategies made was removing visa fees for adolescents (up to 16 years old) plus children traveling for a Safari in Kenya, starting 1st February 2016. (more…)

Explore the Congo Nile trail on your Safari in Rwanda

It’s called the Congo Nile not because it’s in Congo or that it’s along the banks of Nile river but because it follows watershed between Congo as well as the Nile river. This trails covers about 227 Km passing through Rwanda’s amazing landscape of mainly the hills and water bodies. Depending on where you are, if you are in Kampala, you have to go to Entebbe airport from where you will board the Aero link charter flight and in this case, a Gorilla Trekking Safari can be done in just 2 day. Birding and Wildlife Watching in Semuliki National Park

semiliki-animalsSemuliki national park lies across the Semuliki valley in the western side of Mountain Rwenzori and it is largely occupied by part of Congo basin’s Ituri forest which is Africa’s oldest and most bio diverse forest. It lies along the junction of numerous ecological and climatic zones which is why there are so many different plant species and lots of animal species. The best time to visit Semuliki while on Safari in Uganda is during a relatively wet or dry season because during the heavy rains, some parts of the park may flood which will make game drive, and nature walks very difficult.
