5 Days Uganda Wildlife Safari Tour / Queen Elizabeth and Kibale Forest | Uganda Safaris

DAY 1: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

Following an early breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel by our guide and drive to southwestern Uganda to start your Uganda Safari.  You will briefly stop over at the Uganda Equator and also have lunch en route before proceeding to the park. As you enter Queen Elizabeth National Park you will see various wild animals particularly antelopes as you drive to your accommodation where you will have dinner and spend the night. DAY 2: GAME DRIVE & BOAT CRUISE, KAZINGA CHANNEL | QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

You will wake up to a hot cup of tea / coffee before setting out for an early morning game drive inside the Park. Some of the animals you should expect to see include the Big Five animals such as Buffaloes, Hyenas, leopards, mangoose, Elephants, Water bucks, Lions, Bush bucks, forest hog as well as a great profusion of bird species. In the mid morning head back to the lodge for heavy breakfast and rest as you wait for Lunch. At around 2:00pm in the afternoon, you will set out on a lunch cruise down the Kazinga channel to see the large schools of Hippos, Buffaloes, as well as Crocodiles near the water edge. In addition, you will be fascinated by the great profusion of bird species down the Kazinga Channel including the Shoe bill stork, African Jacana, pelicans, papyrus gonelok, fish eagle, martial eagles, and Skimmers. Later return for dinner and overnight at your lodge.

DAY 3: CHIMPANZEE TRACKING, KYAMBURA GORGE

Depart the hotel at around 6:00am to transfer to Kyambura Game Reserve also known as Kyambura Gorge or ‘Valley of Apes’ located in the far Eastern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will track chimpanzees before you embark on your Journey to Kibale National Park in Fort-portal. Overnight at your lodge.

DAY 4: FORT-PORTAL TOWN, KIBALE FOREST NATIONAL PARK

Today you will explore Fort Portal town, visit the villages and enjoy the beautiful scenery. After lunch, you will wade through to Kanyankyu tourist centre in Kibale Forest National park to enjoy an afternoon Chimpanzee trek. This Park is a habitat about 13 primate species including vervet monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys as well as the red colobus monkeys. At the Eastern rim of the Park is Bigodi wetland sanctuary that is managed by the locals, and it’s known for it numerous primates like the red colobus monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabey, red tailed monkeys, L’hoest monkeys, vervet monkeys, blue monkeys in addition to baboons. Other Mammals including the sitatunga or marshbuck, magoose, bush pigs, chimpanzees, bush bucks and otters may be seen in the swamp. There are also several birds species here all worth seeing with the blue turacco being the most prominent.

DAY 5: SWAMP WALK, DEPARTURE

Following an early breakfast, have a walk in Bigodi swamp Sanctuary. The guide will offer you detailed information throughout the walk and you will be able to see the various wildlife including birds such as the Snowy Headed Robin Cat, Sun-birds, Emerald Cuckoo, Greenbuls, Black & White Casqued Hornbill Warblers and Weavers, plus several butterflies in addition to the unique vegetation. After lunch drive back to Kampala.
