11 Days Ngamba Chimpanzee Trekking, Africa Gorilla Safari & Tours in Uganda
DAY 1: NGAMBA ISLAND
Early in the morning the guide will pick you up from your Hotel and then head to Entebbe. At the shore of Lake Victoria You will transfer by boat to Ngamba island Chimpanzee Island (one hours ride). This island is home to approximately 39 orphaned chimpanzees. On arrival you will be offered a brief introduction about this sanctuary plus its history. You will then observe the chimpanzees being fed and see how they interact with each other. Amazing to see are some of their unique characters which include whistling for food and clapping. This is a very amazing activity worth enjoying. The night will be spent at G and C camps at Ngamba Island.
DAY 2: FOREST WALK, NGAMBA ISLAND
Today you will have a guided forest walk. This forest walk within the chimpanzee habitat offers you a chance to spend an hour with some of the habitat chimps. For each walk a group of 4 people are allowed to trek the chimpanzees in the company of a trained staff member from CSWCT for your safety as well as enjoyment. During this walk you will come across many chimps of different ages which will contact with you however you will be offered particular instructions concerning clothing, behavior, glasses as well as cameras. Because these chimps are familiar with human presence, they will play and climb you, grab your sun-glasses, and also pull your hair or simply walk besides you holding your hand! The Fun starts! Later on you will transfer back to the mainland and return to your hotel where you will dine and spend the night.
DAY 3: DRIVE TO KIBALE FOREST NATIONAL PARK
In the morning after your breakfast, you will transfer to Kibale National park through Mubende having lunch along the way. Later in the afternoon, you will go for a nature/forest walk within Bigodi swamp where you will see various types of birds including the Papyrus Gonolek and White-winged Warbler in addition to various plant species. Dine and sleep at Kanyankyu ecological site or Primates Lodge.
DAY 4: KIBALE FOREST NATIONAL PARK
This national park is mostly renowned because of the high diversity as well as great number of primates across the entire Great Lakes region. Within this forest you will enjoy a nature walk as you look for chimpanzees accompanied by trained guides. In the afternoon after your lunch you will drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park driving through the crater lakes region with more than thirty crater lakes. This place has a breathtaking landscape. Dine and sleep at institute of Ecology.
DAY 5: EXPLORE QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
Early in the morning you will go out for a game during which you will see Lions, Elephants, Hyenas, Buffaloes as well as Hippos, plus other wildlife. Following your lunch, you will set out on a thrilling forest walk in the Maramagambo forest and see the bat cave home to numerous bats plus pythons, and the blue lake. Go for a Launch cruise on the Kazinga channel that connects Lake George with Lake Edward. Have dinner and spend the night at your lodge.
DAY 6: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK | EXPLORE ISHASHA AREA
After breakfast, drive to the Kyambura gorge for a walk and explore river Kyambura after which this reserve was named. You will see various primates including Chimps, Black & white Colobus monkeys and various animals including antelopes, hyenas, and may be Lions. In addition, this gorge is habitat to several types of birds. On your way to Ishasha Wilderness camp where you will dine and spend the night, you will have the opportunity to see renowned tree climbing lions
DAY 7: TRANSFER TO BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST NATIONAL PARK
Early morning you will drive through the Ishasha area where you will look for the tree climbing lions. Finding a pride of Lions relaxing in on the branches of the large Acacia branches is a very thrilling experience. Later in the evening you will arrive in Bwindi NP where you will dine and spend the night at Gorilla Forest camp. An optional evening walk in Buhoma Village at an extra charge
DAY: 8 GORILLA TRACKING | BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST NATIONAL PARK
Today will be one of the highlights of this trip as you go tracking mountain gorillas. this activity will include walking up the steep thick forested hills before eventually finding these gorillas in their natural habitat. It’s a very thrilling encounter. The trek which may take 2-6 hours requires good hiking boots since a lot of walking is required. On finding them, you will be allowed to spend an hour in their presence taking photos and observing them cater for one another, feed and play. You will be stunned by the sheer size of the dominant male – the silver back. With less than 700 gorillas remaining in the world this will be a very memorable experience.

DAY 9: TRANSFER TO LAKE BUNYONYI
Early morning you will drive to Kabale where you will have a tour to the beautiful lake Bunyonyi which is Uganda’s deepest lake. This is also a great Birders paradise! You will later transfer to Arcadia Cottages where you will dine and spend the night.
DAY 10: LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK, WESTERN UGANDA
Following breakfast you will transfer to Lake Mburo National Park for a game drive in the evening as you look for; Elands, Topes, Water buck and Buffaloes. Dine and spend the night Mantana Luxury Tented Camp
DAY 11: LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK
At sunrise, you will have a game drive within the park and before heading back to the camp for a late breakfast and later a boat ride on the Lake. You will drive back to Kampala after lunching making a stopover at the Equator to buy some souvenirs and take photos. Later transfer to airport for your departure flight.
