9 Days Primates Safari Africa | Uganda-Rwanda Gorilla Safari Holiday

DAY 1: ARRIVAL – ENTEBBE AIRPORT

On arrival you will be received by our tour guides who will drive you to your accommodation at Serena Hotel or Holiday Express Hotel, or Humurah Hotel where you will dine and spend the night.

DAY 2:  KAMPALA CITY TOUR-CULTURAL SITES | UGANDA

Today you will have a city tour around the capital Kampala and visit various historical and cultural places such as the Namugongo shrine, Ssezibwa fall, Uganda museum, Kasubi Tombs, and later drive to Jinja with lunch en route. In Jinja you will explore the source of river Nile, where you may have the opportunity to enjoy a boat ride and visit the beautiful Bujagali Falls. Later head back to Kampala and have dinner as well as spend the night at your Hotel

DAY 3: LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK

Very early in the Morning you will have breakfast and drive southwestwards along Masaka Road to Lake Mburo National Park making a stopover at the Uganda Equator. On arrival at L. Mburo NP , you will have a game drive en route to your accommodation and you will see various animals including zebras, Topis, Uganda Kobs and Elands, among others. You will have lunch in the park before going on an afternoon boat ride on the lake. Dinner and overnight at Rwonyo Camp, or Mantana tented camp, or Muhingo Lodge.

DAY 4: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK | LAUNCH CRUISE

After breakfast you will head for Queen Elizabeth National Park driving through the beautiful countryside. As you head to your accommodation, you will have a game drive along the way with views of wildlife such as mongoose, Elephants and Buffaloes plus others.  After lunch at your lodge, you will enjoy a thrilling boat ride on the Kazinga channel. This launch cruise will offer you an opportunity to see various aquatic animals including hippos and some reptiles such as crocodiles. Later head back to Mweya safari lodge or Albertine camp, or Jacana safari lodge

DAY 5: GAME DRIVE-ISHASHA | L. BUNYONYI

You will begin the day early with a game drive in the morning as you look for early risers including hyenas, lions plus leopards. You will later return to your lodge for a late breakfast and later lunch. in the afternoon you will drive through the southern ishasha area to see the tree climbing lions as you cross into Kabale. Dine and overnight at the Bushara Island camp, or Arcadia Cottages, or Habuharo Island camp.

DAY 6: KINIGI – RWANDA

Following breakfast, you will cross the borders into Rwanda and transfer into Kinigi. There you will visit one of Rwanda’s genocide memorial centers. Visit the grave of the legendary Dianne fossey prior to having dinner and spending the night at Muhavura lodge, or Mt Gorilla nest lodge, or Kinigi guest House.

DAY 7: RWANDA GORILLA SAFARI | PARC NATIONAL DES VOLCANS

In the morning after breakfast transfer to Parc National des Volcans to track mountain gorillas. You will move through the forested slopes of the Virungas as you search for the gorillas. Although this is a tiring activity, it is also very rewarding. You will spend one hour with the gorillas, and later have a late lunch. A number of the gorilla families are more challenging to track and may take the entire day especially if it is rainy and muddy. You will later in the day return for dinner and the overnight at your lodge.

DAY 8: BOAT-RIDE ON LAKE KIVU | RWANDA

Transfer to Kibuye found on lake Kivu’s Eastern shore, which will offer you a great impressions of the true Rwanda commonly referred to as the Land of a thousand hills. You will enjoy a tour on this Lake and even explore one of its islands referred to as the “Napoleons’ Hat”; taking a boat trip to Lake Kivu’s northern shore up to Gisenyi is a very rewarding experience. Dinner and overnight at Kigali Serena hotel, or Hotel Mille Des Collines, or Chez Lando

DAY 9: DEPARTURE – KANOMBE AIRPORT

In the morning you will have breakfast before going out to shop for some souvenirs. You’ll have your lunch before transferring to Kanombe airport where you will take your departure flight. This will mark the end of your Uganda safari.
