14 Days Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda safari | East Africa Tour

The 14 Days East Africa safaris take you to see the highlights in Tanzania serengenti park, Kenyas Masai Park , Uganda’s Bwindi park for the gorillas and  chimpanzees.

Day 1: LAKE MANYARA OR TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

Starting in Arusha, drive to Lake Manyara NP or Tarangire National Park with packed lunch. On arrival have a game drive. Dinner and overnight at Gibbs Farm or Tarangire Sopa Lodge.

DAY 2: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK | SAFARI

Following breakfast continue to Serengeti having a picnic lunch along the way plus a game drive later on. Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Sopa Lodge, or Seronera Campsite

DAY 3: SERENGETI/NGORONGORO

After breakfast go for a game drive. in the afternoon drive to the Ngorongoro Crater having a game drive plus an optional visit to the archeological Olduvai Gorge. Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge or Simba campsite.

DAY 4: NGORONGORO/ARUSHA

In the morning you will descend to the floor of the Ngorongoro crater for a tour with lunch boxes. In the mid-afternoon proceed to Arusha airport for a flight to Nairobi. Dine and over night at Hilton Hotel

DAY 5:  HELL’S GATE NATIONAL PARK

Following breakfast, have a bird walk, have lunch. Later visit Hell’s Gate National Park, the breeding area for vultures across Kenya. Dine and overnight at Lake Naivasha lodge.

DAY 6: HELL’S GATE NATIONAL PARK – LAKE NAKURU

Have breakfast and then drive to Lake Nakuru National Park commonly referred to as “The pink Heart Of Kenya” due to the millions of pink Flamingoes living around the lake. Afternoon game or bird viewing, dine and overnight at Lake Naivasha lodge

DAY 7: LAKE NAKURU – MASAAI MARA

After breakfast, drive along the Great Rift Valley floor the longest Rift in the Masai Mara Game Reserve. The Masai Mara is the northern part of the Great Plains ecosystem within the nearby Tanzania referred to as Serengeti. It’s home to Africa’s “big five” including lions, buffaloes, rhinos, leopards as well as elephant, in addition to cheetahs, zebras, giraffes and a large number of antelopes. DAY 8: MASAAI MARA – NAIROBI

After breakfast enjoy a brief game drive, then return to Nairobi where you will have your lunch at Toona Tree Restaurant to enjoy some nice Italian food, after freshening up, you will transfer to the airport for your flight to Uganda – Entebbe. Dine and overnight at the Boma Guest house or Imperial resort beach hotel.

 DAY 9: CHIMPANZEE SANCTUARY | NGAMBA ISLAND – LAKE VICTORIA

Today morning you will have breakfast and then be transferred to the Entebbe pier where you will board a boat to Ngamba Island to track the amazing Chimpanzees. Here you will have the opportunity to see them feed, Take photos and then explore the beautiful island to see monitor lizards, plus s great array of birds. In the afternoon, return to the mainland and visit UWEC (former Zoo). Later proceed for a city tour in Kampala.

EITHER: SIGHTS AND SOUNDS OF KAMPALA

You may choose to visit the Uganda Museum, African markets within town, the National Theater, creative local art and craft markets, Namugongo Uganda Martyrs Shrine, the Bahai temple, Makerere University and the Ndere Center, as well as do some shopping within the city center.

OR: THE KABAKA’S TRAIL

The Kabaka’s trail which will take you to the Kabaka’s palace Mengo, historical Nagalabi coronation site, the burial ground of the Buganda kings – the Kasubi tombs, Katereke prison ditch, the kabaka’s man-made lake as well as the Ssezibwa falls.
Overnight at Sheraton Hotel/ Serena Hotel or cassia Lodge.

DAY 10: FORT-PORTAL – TOORO KINGDOM

By 8:00am You will start your journey to the west through Mubende having a stopover for lunch in Mubende. This long drive will reward you with views of the beautiful countryside dotte with banana and tea plantations. On reaching Fort Portal there will be an optional visit to the coronation site of Toro kingdom. Overnight at Rwenzori View guest House, or Mountains of the moon hotel, or Kibale Primate Lodge

DAY 11: CHIMP TRACKING – KIBALE FOREST NATIONAL PARK

Following an early breakfast, you will go chimp tracking; and even see some other primates such as the colobus monkeys, and a profusion of birds as well as butterflies. Proceed through Kasese for Queen Elizabeth and have lunch at your accommodation. In the afternoon enjoy a launch cruise on the Kazinga channel during which you will see hippos, buffaloes as well as elephants in o a large number of birds along the water banks. You will spend the evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight at Albertine Rift Safari Lodge, or Kingfisher Kichwamba, or Mweya Safari Lodge.

DAY 12: RWANDA – VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK

Have an early game drive to see buffaloes, giant forest hogs, elephants, spotted hyena, leopards the and may be lions, plus various birds such as the African jacana malachite, black chested eagle, great and long tailed cormorants, swallow tailed bee eastern the pink backed pelicans. Return to the lodge for breakfast and then transfer to Rwanda driving through Ruhengeri up to Kinigi. Dine and overnight at Mt. Gorilla nest or Kinigi Guest House.

DAY 13:  MOUNTAIN GORILLA TRACKING | KIGALI

In the morning after your breakfast be briefed by the park-rangers and later set out gorilla tracking. You will explore the dense tropical rainforest as you look for a habituated family of mountain gorillas. On finding them you will spend some time observing them and even taking photos. Later return to your accommodation to relax, dine and the overnight.

DAY 14: KAMPALA | DEPARTURE

Today after your breakfast you will drive back to Kampala and be transferred to the airport for your departure flight. This will mark the end of your East African safari.
