DAY 1: ARRIVAL | CITY TOUR

On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, our guide will welcome you and then transfer you to your accommodation in Kampala. In case you reach in the morning, you are recommended to change your money into the local Uganda shillings before enjoying a city tour to the various fascinating sites around Kampala. Some of the places you will visit include the Kasubi Tombs, craft shops in town, the Wamala tombs, the Uganda Museum and the Namugongo Martyrs Shrine. Dine and overnight at Cassia lodge, or Speke Hotel, or Sheraton Hotel or Hotel African.

DAY 2: MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK

In the morning our guide will pick you up from your hotel and transfer to Murchison Falls National Park in northern Uganda. Prior to reaching you accommodation, you will visit the top of the falls to see the great Nile force its way through a narrow 7 meter gorge before thunderously plunging 43 meters below. From here you will transfer to your accommodation – Paraa Safari Lodge, or Sambiya River lodge, or Budget Red Chili Camp where you will dine and spend the night

DAY 3: SAFARI GAME DRIVE | BOAT RIDE – RIVER NILE

Early in the morning you will set out for a game drive. Some of the animals you will see include: Giraffes, antelopes, bush bucks, water bucks as well as several others. Head back to the lodge for a late breakfast and later lunch. In the afternoon, you will set off for a launch cruise on the Nile up to the bottom of the falls. During this amazing voyage, you will see large schools of hippos, waterbucks and giant crocodiles plus various birds along the river banks. Return to either Paraa Safari Lodge, or Sambiya River lodge, or Budget Red Chili Camp for dinner and the overnight.

 DAY 4: TRANSFER TO FORT-PORTAL

After your breakfast, you will drive from Murchison Falls and head southwards to Fortportal town and 8 hours drive having lunch en route. Dine and spend the night at Ndali Lodge, or Rwenzori View guest house, or Kanyankyu campsite.

DAY 5: FORT-PORTAL | SEMLIKI

Very early in the morning you will have breakfast before setting out to semliki to explore the crown and the beautiful hot springs. You will spend most of the day exploring the pygmy villages found close to Ituri Rainforest for a memorable cultural experience. You will have a packed lunch which you will enjoy as a picnic lunch. Later on you will be transferred back to Fort Portal town where you will dine and spend the night at Ndali Lodge, or Rwenzori View guest house, or Kanyankyu campsite

DAY 6: KIBALE FOREST NATIONAL PARK

Following breakfast, you will set off to Kibale Forest National Park popular for its greatest diversity and largest number of primates across East Africa. You will enjoy a nature walk guided by the park rangers in the verdant tropical rainforest to see the Hot springs, the black white colobus monkeys, some wild chimpanzees, the red-tailed monkeys, different colorful butterflies and many others. Later you will have lunch before visiting the Crater Lake region to see the numerous beautiful Crater Lakes here. In the evening you may be entertained by some traditional performances of songs and dances by the locals. Dine and spend the night at Ndali Lodge, or Rwenzori View guest house, or Kanyankyu campsite.

DAY 7: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK | LAUNCH CRUISE

Today, you will transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park after your breakfast and there you will have a game drive as you look for some of the amazing wildlife living there such as elephants, warthogs, buffaloes, hyenas, lions, kobs, crocodiles plus various bird species. You will also enjoy views of lakes George and Edward which are connected by a natural water channel – the Kazinga Channel. You will finally make it to your accommodation where you will check in. have lunch and in the afternoon enjoy a 2 hours launch cruise on the Kazinga Channel, which joins Lakes Edward and George. You will be amaze by the large number of hippos you will see along the banks of this channel plus the great abundance of birds. Dine and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge, or Jacana Safari Lodge, or at the Institute of Ecology.

DAY 8: GAME DRIVE | QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

Early in the morning you will go out for a game during which you will see Lions, Elephants, Hyenas, Buffaloes as well as Hippos, plus other wildlife. Following your lunch, you will set out on a thrilling forest walk in the Maramagambo forest and see the bat cave home to numerous bats plus pythons. The walk will also present an opportunity to see various birds, butterflies, primates and tree species. Dine and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge, or Jacana Safari Lodge, or at the Institute of Ecology.

DAY 9: TREK – KYAMBURA GORGE | BWINDI THE HOME OF MOUNTAIN GORILLAS

Following breakfast, you will drive through grassland region; eventually you will come across a beautiful gorge that is 100 meters deep filled with a verdant tropical rain-forest. Trek into the River Kyambura Gorge for a thrilling experience as you track chimpanzees. It’s very stunning to see the breathtaking river valley which is home of numerous types of birds and butterflies. You will have lunch and then transfer to Bwindi NP where you will dine and spend the night at Gorilla Forest camp, or gorilla safari lodge, or Buhoma Homestead or Buhoma Community Bandas.

DAY 10: BWINDI FOREST NATIONAL PARK

Today will be one of the highlights of this trip as you go tracking mountain gorillas. This activity will include walking up the steep thick forested hills before eventually finding these gorillas in their natural habitat. It’s a very thrilling encounter. The trek which may take 2-6 hours requires good hiking boots since a lot of walking is required. On finding them, you will be allowed to spend an hour in their presence taking photos and observing them cater for one another, feed and play. You will be stunned by the sheer size of the dominant male – the silver back. With less than 700 gorillas remaining in the world this will be a very memorable experience.
Dinner and sleep at Gorilla Forest camp, or Lake Kitandara luxury tents, or Buhoma Homestead or at Buhoma Community Bandas.

DAY 11: BWINDI NATURE WALK – LAKE BUNYONYI

In the morning after breakfast there will be an optional nature walk along one of the five forest trails. You will have lunch and after drive to Lake Bunyonyi to dine and spend the night at Bunyonyi Overland camp or Arcadia cottages.

DAY 12: LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK

Early morning after breakfast, you will drive to Kabale with some game viewing (zebras, buffaloes, elands, antelopes, topes) along the way. At Lake Mburo NP you will have a tour to the beautiful lake Bunyonyi which is Uganda’s deepest lake. This also a great Birders paradise!  You will later transfer to Arcadia Cottages, or Mantana luxury tented camp where you will dine and spend the night.

DAY 13: GAME DRIVE – LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK | KAMPALA

After breakfast, have a brief early morning game drive and then transfer to Kampala, then to Jinja where we visit the Source of the River Nile. Places to visit are Bujagali Falls, the Source of the Nile. Dinner and overnight at Nile Resort Jinja or Hotel Triangle all with water view.

DAY 14: (optional) CITY TOUR | DEPARTURE.

Take breakfast and then return to Kampala for a short City tour to the various fascinating sites around Kampala. Basically Kampala is popularly known as a ‘city on the 7 hills” as the city initially covered only 7 hills which offered the major pointers of direction as well as distinctiveness; the majority of these hills are strongly connected to Uganda’s colonial history.   Among these is Rubaga hill – the catholic seat of the Rubaga Catholic Cathedral. Namirembe hill; seat of the Namirembe Anglican Cathedral and Makerere hill where the legendary Makerere University Kampala which is the oldest university in the country, Kololo hill a diplomatic area which offers administrative offices for various diplomatic missions, Mengo hill the seat of the Kabaka’s palace – king of the Buganda kingdom as well as Buganda’s Central government, Kibuli the Islamic seat and Mbuya hill which holds the largest army barracks.  You may opt to take on the Kabaka’s trail; which will take you to historical Nagalabi coronation site, the burial ground of the Buganda kings – the Kasubi tombs, Katereke prison ditch, the kabaka’s man-made lake as well as the Ssezibwa falls. Alternatively you may choose to visit the Uganda Museum, African markets within town, the National Theater, creative local art and craft markets, Namugongo Uganda Martyrs Shrine, the Bahai temple, Makerere University and the Ndere Center, as well as do some shopping within the city center.
Filled with great memories, you will transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
