Uganda Primate Tour Africa

 

9 Days Tour to  NGAMBA ISLAND L. Mburo  BWINDI, Queen Elizabeth, KIBALE MURCHISON FALLS and Murchison Falls National Parks.

Day 1 TO NGAMBA ISLAND
A guide from our company will pick you up from your hotel in Kampala and drive you to   Entebbe UWEC. (Uganda Wildlife Education centre) the former Zoo. Then after you will walk to the Pier on L. Victoria from which will take you to Ngamba Island. At Ngamba, you will be briefed and told about the history of the sanctuary and then after you will go for chimpanzee viewing on the visitor’s platform. Return to Entebbe from where you will return to Kampala for your Dinner and over night at
Serena Hotel/ Speke Hotel/ Holiday Express Hotel.

 

Day2   TO L. MBURO NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, drive to Lake Mburo National Park with a stop over at Mpambire drum makers .  At Mbambire, you will see how the history of drums and how they have been made from generation to generation. We also stop over at the Equator en-route for photographs.  Proceed to the park then in the afternoon, we go for a boat ride on Lake Mburo. The lake is rich with a diversity of animal and plant species which are only clearly viewed while on a boat.Crocodiles, hippopotami and birds like pelicans, black crake, Heron will be seen along the ride that will take at least two hours . Dinner and overnight at Mantana Luxury tented Camp/ Mihingo Lodge/ Rwonyo Camp.

Day 2 :  TO Bwindi National park
After breakfast we go for an early morning game drive along the lakeside track, which will enable you see water plants and animals. The Kigambira loop will offer an opportunity of going through the wooded wilderness with scattered thicket-while here look out for, Zebras, Elands, Topis, bushbucks and bush duikers. The Kazuma track which passes in the course of wooded grassland-black-bellied bustards often guard the area. This track takes us to Kazuma hill-in order to feel a real exposure to Lake Mburo National Park and then to see see all five lakes within the park and rolling hills. Transfer to Bwindi national park. leave South Westwards. This drive takes you through the beautiful sceneries of the Western part of Uganda which is sometimes known as the Switzerland of Uganda. Have lunch en route and then proceed to the park passing through the gorgeous undulating landscapes of the Switzerland of Uganda! We then continue for the last part. On the last hill of the landscape is the  vast plane of Uganda, Rwanda and Congo the Virunga volcanoes dominate the view. In the North is the Northern sect of Bwindi national park and in the south is Mgahinga and the Southern
part of Bwindi. The drive might be long but is rewarding with beautiful sceneries and artistic African exquisiteness.
Dinner and Over night at Gorilla resort camp/ Buhoma Community bandas if you are tracking gorillas in the Northern part of Bwindi OR Nkuringo safari Lodge / Travelers rest Hotel if you are tracking gorillas in the southern Sector of Bwindi which is  Nkuringo family. Travelers Rest Hotel is set out side Kisoro and it a lovely stay for the tourists, who come to see the endangered mountain gorilla. The hotel, built in a rather colonial style, and utterly refurbished in 1999. Because of its comfortable quality, Dianne Fossey a writer on Gorillas remarked that it was her second home when she was doing research about gorillas.

Day 3 : GORILLA TRACKING
Well prepared with you packed lunch, cameras, water, rain jackets, long pair of trouser and hiking boots and other gear, you will assemble for briefing from the rangers about gorilla tracking the great adventure and experience!  The time taken to encounter these peaceful primates is impulsive for it may take1-10 hours. Nevertheless, on encounter, one may be forced to say, it is stunning!!!! After the adventure a certificate awaits the successful
tracker. The day is not easy at times but appealing. Return to your lodge for dinner and over night.

DAY 4 ; Transfer to Queen Elizabeth
Take breakfast and then drive through the Ishasha sector and then short game drive en route to encounter the tree climbing lions you will reach the park in the afternoon.  Have lunch and take a game drive through the crater lakes region. Dinner and overnight at

DAY 5 : Game drive / Boat ride Kazinga channel

Go for an early morning game drive in the Park. In the afternoon you will have lunch in then go for a boat ride on the Kazinga channel to view water game. Dinner and overnight at

DAY 6 : Transfer to Fortportal
After chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura Gorge, you will be picked up and transferred to Fort portal  for dinner and over night  at ;

DAY 7 : Transfer to Murchison Falls NP/ Visit the top of the falls

 Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park.   You will drive Via    Hoima and Lake Albert where the lowest point above sea level in Uganda is found. Visit the top of the falls. Murchison falls Protected Area (MFPA) composes of Murchison Falls National Park, (MFNP), Bugungu and Karuma Wildlife Reserves. It derives its name from the Murchison Falls where the mighty river Nile explodes through  a narrow gorge and flows down to become a placid river whose banks are thronged with hippos, and crocodiles, waterbucks and buffaloes. The vegetation is characterized by savannah, riverine forest and woodland. Wildlife includes lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, hartebeests, oribis, Uganda kobs, chimpanzees and many bird species including the rare shoebill. You will visit the top of the falls and then transfer to the lodge for Dinner and overnight at

DAY 8 : Game drive / Boat ride on Victoria Nile

Early in the morning, you will go for a game drive in the park to search for the early risers and predators returning to their hide out. After the game drive you will return to the Lodge to have lunch and then in the afternoon go for a boat ride on the Victoria Nile that will take you to the bottom of the Falls. One of the highlights of your visit to Murchison Falls National Park is the launch trip from Paraa to the foot of Murchison Falls. Hippos and crocodiles are abundant and you will see elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks and a variety of birds like herons, cormorants, ducks, bee-eaters, fish eagles, kingfishers and sometimes the rare shoebill. The launch trip from Paraa to the falls (17km) and back takes about three hours. A boat trip from Paraa to the Delta (28 km) and back takes about four to five hours and you can see similar variety of animals and birds. Animals, birds and plants can be closely and quietly observed. Dinner and overnight at

DAY 9: Drive back to Kampala
After an early morning breakfast, you will go for a forest walk in Kaniyo Pabidi in search for Chimpanzees then after transfer to Kampala or Entebbe for your next flight back home.
