12 DAYS SAFARI TO UGANDA

Day 1
When you arrive at Entebbe International Airport, our tour guide will be ready to welcome you and drive you to your hotel room in Kampala. In case you reach in the morning, our guide will drive you to interesting places in and around Kampala. These include the Kabaka’s place, Uganda Museum, African Craft Market, Namirembe Cathedral, Mandela stadium etc. Dinner at

Day 2
Having taken your breakfast early in the morning, our tour guide will pick you up from your hotel room and then depart for Murchison Falls National Park famously referred to as the land of hippos. You will get there in the early afternoon. Prior to arriving at Paraa Lodge, you will stop at the top of the falls which is a very interesting sight. Here the Nile, which is the longest river in the world, is squeezed through a narrow gap into the rock (only 7 meters wide), prior to ferociously pouring down 43 meters. You will move on taking a ferry across the river to Paraa Safari Lodge. Across the river you will see a variety of primates including; hippos, elephants, crocodiles, buffalos and several other animals, seen gazzetting on the banks of the river. Dinner at

Day 3
Rise up early in the morning and go for an early morning game drive. Get ready to see animals like the Giraffe, antelope, bush bucks, water bucks and several others. Return to the lodge and have breakfast then lunch. After, you will gather at the river bank to enjoy the exciting launch cruise near the Nile which will take you to the bottom of the falls. Day 4

Having finished your breakfast, we will drive to Fort portal, have lunch enroute. Dinner and Overnight at Luxury: Ndali Lodge Rwenzori View guest house/

Day 5
Have your breakfast early in the morning then report to Kanyankyu tourist centre for some briefing before you proceed to the forest for Chimp Tracking. This forest has a wide range of over 13 species of primates including the rare L’Hoest, red Colobus monkey, blue monkey, pottos, grey mangabeys, baboons, black faced vervet monkeys, not leaving out bush babies and several others. A network of shady forest trails gives a lot to the devoted botanists and butterfly lovers, while birders are in for a treat with 335 species registered plus the endemic Prirogrine’s ground thrush. The gigantic forest elephant, smaller and hairier than its savannah counterpart, moves seasonally into the developed part of the park, as other terrestrial mammals like the buffalo, giant forest hog and a half dozen antelope species. You will come back to the lodge or the centres for lunch and after wards go for a nature walk to Bigodi swamp. Dinner at

Day 6
Having finished your breakfast, leave for Queen Elizabeth National Park. We will move into the park passed the Northern crater Area. Queen Elizabeth accommodated a large number and volume of wildlife. It supports one of the highest bio diversity ratings of any game park in the world, from the open Savannah to Rain forest, thick swamps and spectacular crater lakes to the vastness of Lake Edward. Over 100 species that include Hippos, Lions, Buffaloes, Leopard, Spotted Hyena and the elusive giant forest hog. The park has more than 606 species of bird life which include; the martial eagle, black-rumped buttonquail, Verreaux’s eagle owl and African skimmer to mention but a few. The primates include Chimps, Black and white Colobus Monkeys, Blue, Black Faced Red Colobus, and Red Tailed monkeys and Olive Baboons. Rest after lunch and afterwards go for a tour to the cater lakes region in the park. You will tour the Katwe Lake salt mine to see how salt is mined traditionally and afterwards comeback for dinner and overnight at

Day 7
Rise up very early in the morning and head for an early morning game drive on the Kasenyi track looking for lions, hyenas, leopards, water bucks and many antelopes. . You will come back to the lodge for breakfast and lunch and afterwards go for an afternoon chimp tracking in the Kyambura gorge. When your meeting with these human cousins is really fantastic!! Have fun as you watch them in there family and afterwards come back to the lodge for dinner and over night.
Day 8
This morning, we depart for a boat trip on the Kazinga Channel which gives you the opportunity to see wildlife up close: hippo’s huff and spray mere feet away from the boat, buffalo linger in the shallows. The shores of the channel are also habitat to an array of birds including pink backed pelicans, pied and malachite kingfishers, saddle billed stork and several others. Then we will depart for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. We will go through the southern part of Queen Elizabeth referred to as Ishasha. Here we will have lunch by the Ishasha River and try to find the renowned Ishasha tree-climbing lions prior to moving on to Bwindi, habitat to the few remaining mountain gorillas. Bird life and primate life in Bwindi is somehow superb, and there is an unbelievable variety of flora. Bwindi is also one of the parks with the leading numbers of bird. Some people refer to it as the birder’s paradise that is second to Queen Elizabeth national park. It is connected with the Virunga Volcanoes (Diane Fossey’s stomping ground), Bwindi is at the moment an ecological island, surrounded by cultivation on the rich volcanic soils. Overnight at :

Day 9 Gorilla Trekking
Rise up early in the morning for break fast then move to the starting points of the groups as you receive briefing from your rangers corning the gorilla tracking which is the most sought after theme of the tour. Afterwards you will move to the forest for the tracking. The time taken to encounter these primates is unpredictable so you are advised to have you lunch because it may take you 1-10 hours. Before meeting these gentle eyed animals together with their silver back, one will be forced to say that; it is exhilarating!! Come back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

 

Day 10
Have your breakfast and move to Kampala or Entebbe for dinner and overnight.

Day 11
Wake up very early in the morning for breakfast then prepare to have a boat ride to Ngamba Island. The boat trip takes approximately 45 minutes-1 hour across to Ngamba Island, crossing the equator on the way. The island is a home to more than 39 orphaned chimpanzees. The chimpanzee guides will provide you with a simple briefing on chimpanzee and afterward you will assemble at the visitor plat foam to encounter these animals feeding. This is a mesmerizing time to see them whilst they feed. In this short time you are there, you will be capable of to seeing different personalities amongst the group, with some whistling for food and others clapping. Obviously the ideal option would be to re-introduce these orphaned chimpanzees to the wild however this is not possible for a number of different reasons and the sanctuary is not bad for second best. You will come back to the mainland prior to driving to the Entebbe Wildlife Education Centre (zoo). Here they have replicated some of the country’s ecological zones like the savannah, wetlands and tropical forest. In case you have not succeeded in seeing the shoebill in the wild you are guaranteed a sighting here, plus the rhino. You will come back to your hotel in the late afternoon. Day 12
Rise up very early in the morning and head for a city tour near Kampala and afterwards shop some souvenirs for remembrance of Kampala. Then later you will be driven to Entebbe for your flight back home.
