3 Days Chimp-Tour to Nyungwe National park, Rwanda

The 3 ays Chimp Tour Nyungwe can star on any day of the year. Nyungwe National Park has an estimated total area of 100 km². Nyungwe park has an average height of 1700-2950m and it is 225km from Kigali via Butare. Nyungwe the largest block of montane forest in East or Central Africa. It is also one one of the oldest, dating back to before the last Ice Age. With a uniquely rich centre of floral and fauna diversity, the forest has more than 200 different species. Thats is trees, shrubs, primates, flowering plants, including the other-worldly giant lobelia and a multitude of colorful orchids.

The forest is interspersed with well marked and maintained trails. These trails are aimed at boosting visits to see the 13 rare primate species. Nyungwe has the world’s largest ever recorded arboreal troop of black/white colobus monkeys, over 300 species of birds and 100 types of orchid. Nyungwe Forest and chimpanzee tracking is the ideal compliment to any gorilla safari. An extensive network of well-maintained walking trails leads through the forest to various waterfalls and viewing points. A contentedly country rest house and perfectly positioned campsite lie alongside the main road. More so, the park can be visited during a day trip from the towns of Butare and Cyangugu.

DAY 1: ARRIVAL | BIRD WATCHING

Arrive at the airport, greet and meet with the guide then transfer to Gisenyi a city that features a resort on the shores of Lake Kivu and also known for water sports, have lunch in this town then head to Nyungwe National Park which is famous for chimpanzee tracking and bird watching in Rwanda.Dinner and overnight

DAY 2: CHIMPANZEE TRACKING | HIKING

Have the early morning breakfast, and then head to the forest for chimpanzee tracking. Visitors should note that during the rainy season, a troop of chimpanzees often moves into Uwinka and the colored trail as well, and it is up to the tourist to decide whether to pay extra to track them. After the activity, head back to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, have a trip to Ruhengeri and a visit to Lake Burera and Ruhondo which are the twin lakes of Rwanda. DAY 3: KIGALI CITY TOUR | DEPARTURE

After an early morning breakfast drive to Kigali for a city tour .Visit the Gisozi genocide memorial, the moslem quarter then transfer to the airport in the afternoon.
