DAY 1: ARRIVAL

On arrival at the airport, meet with the guide then visit Kigali city which includes the Genocide Memorial at Gisozi, the Nyabugogo market and the handicraft shops. Transfer to the accommodation in Ruhengeri which is now known as Masanze, the main base town for Gorilla trekking in Rwanda Dinner and overnight at;

Luxury accommodation: Virunga volcanoes  lodge, Sabyinyo silverback lodge
Mid-range accommodation: Gorilla Nest Lodge, Gorilla Mountain View Lodge
Budget accommodation: Kivu sun Hotel, Kinigi Guest Hotel,

DAY 2: MOUNTAIN GORILLA TRACKING

Early in the morning after breakfast and with packed lunch, head for tracking the gorillas in the Volcanoes national park passing through rolling green hills which characterize the Rwandan landscape. Volcanoes National Park is the best known home of the rare mountain gorilla, trekking through the park in far northwest Rwanda, one will find a tapestry of sensory delights. The visitor in the rain forest can hear the calls of birds and monkeys, and through the forest see the peaks of the ancient volcanoes. In addition to the rain forest, the park offers evergreen and bamboo forest, grassland, swamp and heath.
Tracking the gorillas takes several hours especially when tracking through the unique vegetation because of the challenge of walking in wet and muddy environment. After spotting the gorillas, head to the accommodation of your budget for dinner and overnight.

DAY 3: GORILLA SAFARI RWANDA

Wake up, have breakfast, then go tracking the gorillas for the second time, you may see what you didn’t see the previous day. After, retreat to the lodge for lunch then travel to Gisenyi for a stop on Lake Kivu. Gisenyi is a city that features a resort on the shores of Lake Kivu, with three sandy beaches. The area is also known for its water sports. The northern shore of the lake on which Goma and Gisenyi lie is a flat plain featuring lava formations from the eruptions of nearby Mount Nyiragongo. Dinner and overnight at the previous accommodation.

DAY 4: DEPARTURE

Have breakfast in the morning then head to Kigali while enjoying the view of the Bulera and Ruhondo lakes. Reach Kigali and transfer to the airport for the departure flight.
